Keeping a secret can be a very lonely responsibility. As survivors of childhood sexual abuse we were taught to keep the secrets of our trauma. Sometimes we kept the secret because we were afraid of the consequences, and sometimes we kept the secret because we thought we shared a special relationship with our abuser. For whatever reason; quietly and in solitude we endured shame and confusion, unaware that countless other children were bearing the same burden as we were.
Today you are not alone. Today you will be counted as one of many who have chosen to make a difference by inspiring others through your courage to break the silence. On this map you will see where thousands of people from across the globe have already visited our site. With each passing day we continue to reach more survivors in every corner of the globe. Research estimates that there are more than 1 billion plus survivors living with the effects of childhood sexual abuse.
